David has 36 years’ experience in environmental impact assessments including 25 years in the mining and minerals industry and the oil and gas industry.

From 1985 to 1987 he was an Associate of NSR Environmental Consultants Pty. Ltd. and from 1987 to 1991 was associate Director of NSR. In 1991, David established his own environmental consulting practice David Balloch & Associates Pty. Ltd. then, in 2006, relocated to the Middle East and formed his new company EnviroGulf Consulting.

David has long-term proven experience in project management; integrated environmental planning, management and troubleshooting; environmental management systems, environmental impact assessments; water quality and aquatic ecotoxicology; environmental monitoring; environmental audit; ecological risk assessment; and environmental and peer reviews.

Rod is a Consultant Metallurgist and Company Director who has extensive operating and consulting experience in metallurgy and mineral processing. He is Chair of the Mineral Processing Commission of the International Mineral Processing Council (IMPC).

He undertakes a wide variety of technical and commercial assignments, often combining his broad production, management, director, evaluation and development experience to achieve project specific solutions. He takes a holistic approach, matching the metallurgy to site, geological, mining and corporate factors. A similar approach is taken to evaluating new technologies.

Areas of specialisation include:

  • project management
  •  complex polymetallic metallurgy including differential flotation
  • gold, other precious and base metals recovery
  • iron ore beneficiation
  • new process evaluation

  • liquid/solid separation

Rod consults to operations staff, company boards, financiers and lawyers. He manages feasibility studies, undertakes valuations, independent reports and advises on mergers and acquisitions.

Major project works include the development of major iron ore and manganese projects in West Africa, advanced tungsten processing, project management of the Browns polymetallic project (NT), the assessment and development of resin based gold and cyanide recovery technologies and new processes for recovering gold from refractory gold ores. As Director and later Chairman of Allstate Explorations NL he was extensively involved in bringing the Beaconsfield Gold Mine in Tasmania back into operation.

Rod is a past President of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Councillor of the IMPC.

Kevin has 40 years experience in the mining industry, principally in the application of geotechnology to mining, embracing both underground and open pit, both metalliferous and coal. He commenced his career as a Mining Engineer in the brown coal mines in the Latrobe Valley, Victoria (1961-64), undertook postgraduate studies in rock mechanics at ANU (1964-68) and was Senior Rock Mechanics Engineer at Mount Isa, Queensland (1968-72). He has been consulting since 1972, initially with Golder Associates in Vancouver, and later as a Principal of Golder Associates in Melbourne and Brisbane. He established his own practice in 1983, and has consulted throughout Australia and in several countries overseas.
